What we believe on how to become a Christian
- Admit that you are a sinner. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
- Understand the consequences of sin: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:23)
- Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. “If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified and it is with the mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
- Ask the Lord Jesus to save you and give you everlasting life. (Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
- Begin to live for Christ every day. “Jesus replied, If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. (John 15:23)
What we believe about church membership
We believe that each member of the church will be faithful in worship. Our church offers two worship services each Sunday. A blended worship service is held at 11:00 A.M. with a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs.
- We believe that each member will be faithful in fellowship. We believe that God did not intend for Christians to be isolated or alone in their Christian walk. God call Christians to fellowship and interact with one another on a regular basis. It does not mean that we are going to know every member of the church, but that we will connect with members who share our interest and experiences.
- We believe we must be faithful in Bible Study. Our church offers small group Bible Study classes for every age. The purpose of these classes is to engage in a discussion of the Word of God and grow spiritually.
- We believe that each member will be faithful in giving. Maplewood First Baptist Church has a world wide ministry. We give to local and international missions. Each member has the opportunity to participate in the great commission through giving.
- We believe that every member will find a place of service in the church. The Bible says that God has given every Christian spiritual gifts. The purpose of those spiritual gifts is to use them in the life and ministry of the church.
